I volunteered to teach an eighth-grade faith formation class in my parish–20+ students, many of whom (most of whom?) don’t want to be there. It’s a challenge that has required many pep talks, the occasional pity party, and a poem to let it all out (the bref double, next in line of the poetic forms I’m trying). Peace to your ♥ !
There’s the Rub
What if the shoe
Doesn’t fit?
You agreed
To teach and
Must keep on,
Not quit,
But you can
Barely stand
Each barely
Stifled yawn,
So not what
You planned:
Your smash hit—
Their marathon.
